Summary | 0002697: Allow bypassing the ajax dropdown for creq assignments and assistance requests
Description | Before the dropdown was implemented in creqs, I could just type the username or uid and press the button. That is no longer the case; submitting the username without selecting something from the dropdown does nothing (I haven't tested with the uid, but those are much harder to memorize/copy). I'd like to be able to bypass the ajax dropdown completely and just submit the username as-is and have it parsed as if I had selected it from the dropdown.
Additional Information | Waiting for those ajax dropdowns is never exactly a blissful experience, but it's acceptable when your link to AniDB works as it should. When it's very slow, however, the wait times can be downright painful. These days, my link to AniDB has been truly awful; I've had to wait around five seconds or more for pretty much anything. This has turned using those dropdowns into torture. This ticket, if implemented, would greatly lessen my pain when processing creqs into which someone else needs to be called, consequentially greatly enhancing my creq handling performance. I'm sure others would also benefit from the speed gain.
