Summary0001621: Mylist Report Request (Missing episodes in mylist with files)
DescriptionThe basic idea here is a merging of the 'Latest (Files)' and 'Mylist Reports (Mylist (Anime)/Missing episodes in mylist)' features. If possible, a format similar to 'Latest (Files)' would be used. Likewise, as many of the details currently displayed by 'Latest (Files)' would be retained. Files displayed would be those for which the anime appears in the user's mylist, but the episode does not (you can also think of this as extending the current 'Missing episodes in mylist' functionality to display file information.) Episodes would not be displayed if no file information is associated with them (i.e., as-yet unreleased episodes.)

For instance, say I have Bleach episodes 1-228 in Mylist. This report would display episode 229, enumerating DB's and ELEMENT's releases, but would not display episodes 230-233 (which only have generic file releases.)

That's what I'm forced to use now, but it's an inelegant solution in that it sorts by date. For use as a "which episodes am I missing and which groups have released them" tool, that makes it take significantly longer to get any sort of comprehensive list.

Yes, I know I can hit the [F] links to filter for a specific group or series, but even so we're looking at having to do that once for each series in Mylist that's missing episodes.

i kinda doubt that a mylist report with _ALL_ the files available for an episode you are missing is going to be much more helpful. you'll end up with 99% files you dont care about. filtering out the ones you actually want would be harder than clicking the [F] links or the groupname on the latest2 page.

in the meantime deridiot was so free to add a new "filter" to the latest2 page called "timeframe". it lets you group the files by day, week or month instead of just day.

This is Latest as it currently looks for my mylist: http://ger.dhs.org/AniDB/Latest_Current.jpg

As you can see, good for seeing what has been released recently, not so good for an at-a-glance look at what you're missing in any given series (115 Ai Yori Aoshi entries, scattered all over the place.)

Here's a mockup of what I've been trying to explain: http://ger.dhs.org/AniDB/Latest_Mockup.jpg

Still an unholy mess for series with lots of entries, but far, far easier to drill down in. I don't have to click through multiple pages just to find the listing of episodes for the series I'm interested in, by the group I'm interested in—just scroll up and down within the same page.

Note: yeah, yeah, I know, the mockup has a ton of errors in it, like the specific icons, no real Mylist or Seen data. It's just a mockup, after all. ;)

Added two new reports:

Missing episodes in mylist where files exist -> http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=report&report.type=mylist_ep_missingepswithfiles&do.report=Generate+Report
Missing episodes in mylist where files exist (no unknown group) -> http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=report&report.type=mylist_ep_missingepswithfilesnogroup&do.report=Generate+Report

A filter for only displaying files with japanese dub and english sub, or just english dub will _NOT_ be implemented.
