Description | It can often be a pain, in threads that see a lot of movement, to quote and reply to several people. Often, people either create makeshift quotes that don't mention who it is they're quoting; alternatively, they manually go around creating quote tags and dealing with several reply pages open, which often leads to forgetting to input part of the replies, leading to more edits and people missing parts of others' replies.
A clean solution is to add a multiquote button. A proposed implementation is: the "multiquote" button is pressed on each post you want to quote, triggering a js flag; changing the button to one with some form of highlight is helpful. The user then presses the "quote all selected posts" button at the beginning or end of the thread (there with the add reply, lock/unlock, delete thread, etc buttons). Then all posts are quoted in order one or two empty lines are given between each quoted post, and the user can play with them the normal way. |
