For example, on buddy list, Arokh is still generated with black transparency. Same seems to occur for char images, for example: http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=character&charid=70472 See the thumbnail for Test Character Male, that I just changed to Arokh's transparent image. | ||||

If you want to preserve alpha yet compress the images, a quality alternative to JPG is PNG with targeted transformations to attain lossy compression, e.g. with https://pngquant.org or https://github.com/pornel/mediancut-posterizer |
