Summary | 0000470: Improve vote graphs
Description | (meant for episodes only, but if then all graphs should have the same style) Vote page, left hand side: number of votes per rating (temp and permanent). Height of bar symbolizes amount of votes. bars compared indicate which rating got how many votes. highest bar is indicated in a greyish yellow. Right hand side: vote averages ranging from 0 to 10 displayed by an image that is average multiplied by 16 wide. Problem: user is unable to find out whether the series is any good by looking on the horizontal bars because the top limit is not indicated - while visiting different animes, the per episode bars loose indicational value - only the difference between episodes can be derived from them. Resolution: add top limit by adding cell backgrounds in white. width of cell set to 160. width of green bar in front of white background now indicates overall rating from one to ten represented in a graphical manner. Bars become more valid. I know you can derive the information on what the highest possible vote is from the overall votes on the left side - you could assume that the ratings go from 1 to 10 and by actually voting yourself on an episode you could verify this, but on first sight the horizontal bars could go to infinity to the right just as the relationship graphs for instance for the Gundam series blow up the page to the right as well. A lot of the indicational value of the horizontal bars is lost and I know the numbers are there and they are fine but if you visit a page that for instance has episodes rates from 3 to 5 and another one that has ratings from 7 to 9, they look pretty much the same - the episodes don't vary that much, only that the first series is crappier rated than the first one and the bars are just somewhat shorter... Best idea would be to have colored bars maybe from green through yellow to red and a an indicator on those bars where the rating is. That could be done via adding that bar as a table background image and a transparent image to the left of the indicator in the width of the rating (just like the green one now), which would push the indicator (which could be a vertical black bar or maybe a small downward arrow) so far to the right that it reaches the right spot on the green to red bar. Or red to green bar. Or a scale with 9 delimiters parting the bar in 10 portions. Or whatever, you name it.
