Summary | 0000060: notification expansion to related animes
Description | a notification in case of a new sequel (or other relation) to the anime, so you immediately know if there is a second season to your favourite animes. I think the notification should work for direct relations (the ones shown in the Anime header) and global relations (the ones only seen in the graph)

and how would one subscribe to such notifications? with a new notification option or automatically if any notification is set for any of the animes of a relation-group? |
right, till now you can only set either "new", "group", or both... So this would need some work on the notify-system itself, so you can subscribe to multiple notifications. I imagine something like this: no subscriptions so far: Notification: enable: episode | group | related subscribed to "episode": Notification: enable: group | related disable: episode subscr. to "episode" and "group": Notification: enable: related disable: episode | group and so on This way one can easily choose the desired notifications and get a quick overview on which notifies are activeated. If there are more feature requests on new notifications later, these will need less changes to the site to be realized... btw I have changed the notify-type "new" to "episode" in the upper examples, as I think "new" irritates the user. It's not exact enough, as the groups and related animes are new as well... Well, at least I was irritated by it ^^ |
hm, I don't know if it does any good posting a new note (or if it gets any attention at all), but there hasn't been any comment after my more detailed Information on what I wanted. I understood exp's note as a request for a more detailed note, which I then provided, but he seems to have forgotten about it ^^ |
I think this is probably redundant. No matter how many kiddies set up notifies for their fav. series, a very small proportion actually get follow ups, and most of those are part of the big franchises. This is the domain of news sites, I'd say. |
well, you do have a point there... |
Actually, I'd like this sort of notification for all anime I have in my list. No interface is also the simplest interface. |
Just checking the Anime Calendar every month or two/three months does the trick too. |
you can also take a look at the up2date sequel page every now and then: http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=up2date&do=sequels but still, I think this would be a useful feature. But I'd suggest a profile option "notify me about sequels to any animes in my mylist", which if enabled, would make anidb send you a pm, whenever a new relation is added for an anime of which you have at least one file in mylist. |
there is a new profile option for this now. you can't turn it on/off per anime though, you'll get messages for all the animes you're collecting. |
