Summary | 0000090: Have some filtering for last 100 additions
Description | I would like to have the last 100 additions only for English releases as lately the number of other languages releases is clutering the report and making it not much usable.

No comments on this? I was expecting a better reception of this as now that page is cluttered with lots of other languages additions (German, Spanish, Italian, French) and I can't use it anymore to see what's new in the database. :( |
Maybe add another addition list where are only last added/updated pairs: anime-group (without specific files, only: date, anime, group and maybe number of added files for episodes and sub/dub info (if is common for all added files). |
No, because that won't get rid of the languages I don't want. :P In that case why not having an english only list? |
I would like to have such a feature ^^ |
No comments from exp on this? Would be too hard to make an English/raw only page? Lately this part of AniDB become useless for me. :( |
And now the frenchies are invading AniDB. -_-; |
Sorry Dongato. :p What about a French only list? |
I'd be happier about fr/de/es fansubbing groups if they weren't hardsubbing idiots who do second-hand translations from existing English subs, which, let's face it, is what most of them are. |
Well, in fact, some English groups: *) are French people translating directly from Japanese to English (yes! yes!) *) are English people ripping English DVD subtitles So don't blame foreign groups too fast. |
Blame? I'm not blaming, I'm criticizing. Also, both your examples are still one-step translation. For *a majority* (not all) of non-eng groups, that's not the case. |
Will exp keep this to himself or should be reassigned to the new codding monkeys? |
i'll use 'File Audio/Sub Language Preference' in profile for this. it'll be possible to enable/disable it on the page, like: * Filter by file audio language preference: enable/disable * Filter by file sub language preference: enable/disable only the first of the lang pref will be used maybe also: * Filter by no group: en.. any opinions/ideas? better text? |
Let's see if I understand the way it will be implemented. We will be able to filter files not having a certain audio track (for me: japanese) and not having a certain subtitle track (for me: english). It will be possible to filter by group (how?, or you mean when the file has no group?). Well, then in that case what will happen with: 1. If I want two languages (yes, greedy but just asking not demanding) 2. If a file is not a video file? 3. RAW files? |
Two languages would be good: one primary (Italian, French, German, Spanish, ...), and one secondary (English or Japanese). |
the filter should include, not exclude. this is about preferences and the page should not be used as a query tool, imo i meant 'has no group', but raw is better, meaning japanese audio and no subtitles (current anidb definition). this would be a filter unrelated to preferred languages matching all tracks to all languages in prefs would be a pain, i think. so we can A) match the first two tracks (for both aud and sub, of course) to all the preferences, or B) match the first one or two of the preferences to all the tracks. B) should be what amour suggested audio and sub only files: if audio filter is enabled you wold not get subfiles and vica versa. what do you think? |
Well, we can test it and see if there is some problem after using it. I think most people will have a couple of preferences like: Japanese/English Japanese/[any subs language] If with the changes proposed we can achieve that it should be ok. For what you say if someone has English preference for Audio track it will be handled by the first filter as well (having english in audio or subtitles). |
"Auido Languages:" in profile. |
but otherwise ok? |
Yes, it seems so. I'm checking as the list now is quite small. :) I like the way it's done with the notification of filters, but when you click on additions for the first time I think the filters are being applied and the notifications not shown. Also the settings change at the bottom show "enable" for filters but I think they are already enable. Or I'm understanding the wrong way? |
no that's another bug. the performance options aren't applied correctly for latest files atm. it shows you you 20 instead of whatever you did chose in your profile. it's already fixed in cvs and on the dev server, but not in live anidb currently. |
Well, don't know if this is a bug but changed my languages (subtitles) and the page is still showing entries for the languages I don't have anymore in my profile. ANd yes, the bug of 20 entries is annoying. :P |
Confirmed. The language filter isn't working. Now I see files subbed in a language I never had set. |
can you explain exactly what you are doing? i've tried with a buch of different setups, but i can't recreate your problem by default the filters are off. when enabled you'll see 'Only files with preferred subtitle language are shown.' also, remember that it's 'one of the tracks'. so for example 'O2 - Episodes 1-3 - (dub.sub jp+.de+).mkv' shows even if you've only selected english sub lang, since the second track is eng. |
Ok, I didn't understand we need to apply the filter every time we click on the additions link, and with the 20 entries issue (and what we call luck as the first time I tried only English files were shown) I already though it was filtering. Wouldn't be better to have an option to keep the filters, or maybe store their last value in a cookie? |
