| Description | When trying to verify whether a file actually exists, quite often AOM's auto-creqs come in handy: If there was an auto-creq for the file, the ed2k/size-combination refers to an existing file. However, this side-effect fails for files where the missing hashes were added manually. The feature request: Add a new state "verified" to every file-entry that: - defaults to "false" - can't be edited directly - is changed to "true" only by AOM, if it detects a matching local file during it's normal hash-operation (just like auto-creqs) | ||||

This won't help if user only one who have file and hash it with AOM after adding. Technically it would be "existant", but it'd be unavailable anywhere. Or are you interested only in confirming that user didn't just entered random sums and that at least one copy of this file exists? |

we're only concerned about the different hash values (ed2k, md5, crc, ...) actually belonging to the same and existing file. availability or correctness of the file itself is not the issue here. |
