Summary | 0000160: Notification - Own language
Description | This really only applies to a newly released anime where you haven't started "following" a certain sub-group. What would be helpful, would be stop notification popups for new episodes that don't meet a certain criteria... the case which im interested in is anime that doesn't have english subtitles. Say im waiting for a group to start subbing an anime that looks interesting, I keep getting notifies for foreign subtitles in that anime. ... so maybe another notify option (other than new, all and group), would be new/all in native language and then set you native language in your profile... then you could get notification of a certain anime when it has been dubbed/subbed (I must admit, I prefer subbed stuff leaving it in original language) in your own language. Then once you obviously find a group that you enjoy using.. you'd switch your notification to group. Apologies if i've posted this in the wrong area (and if this system is already implemented and Ive not noticed!)

I think a lot of people have said they'd be interested in a feature like this in the past, the main hold up was the way languages/notifies are currently handled, irrc. Rar |

dunno if this would be doable without slowing the process of file adding down. might be possible with the right caching strategy. |

same as my request actually ;) http://www.anidb.net/tracker/view.php?id=55 |

in the case of naruto, an easy option is to change your notify to group, so you only get notifies of an english subber you've been downloading from (you could add files from different english groups to get notifies from more). Although this would work in your case, what group notify doesn't work for is a new anime series which has yet to have any english subbing/dubbing groups to take it on. |
|
Yea i agree with that, English groups only filtering would work or if you want English subs, you filter out other language subs, with another function to filter out bad groups (or groups you just don't like) |
|
it would be interesting to filter by group/sub/dub, for example in naruto, if you downloaded a single file froma group, and you have group notification, you will get notifies even if you're not interested anymore(or if you have it in "deleted" status). this is especially helpful for large popular animes with lots of groups |
