Summary | 0001818: Suppress episode ranges for main credits
Description | Staff episode ranges for creators receiving "main" credits are inconsistent for certain credits that happen to appear in the ED. Credits such as music work, sound work, assistant producer, etc. almost always have episode ranges attached to them, which attract extra attention on the anime/creator page when they shouldn't. http://anidb.net/a4776 being a recent example. Creator-anime relations which are main credits and all episodes are credited should be suppressed on these pages.

personally i think this will lead to a lot of funny and confusing situations where the credit is given for the series and some special episode. if you force the range to not be set for regular eps (or at all) then you can either not set them for special bits or if you cna set them for the special eps it will look like the credit is only valid for these. this is already happening for 1ep stuff where nwa didn't want the ranges to be setable. imho this makes stuff way more confusing. also i'm quite certain there are main credits for old ova stuff where the staff did change in certain eps. mainly because we sometimes munch some entries together. also if no eprange is present then the credits aren't shown on the episodes which (once more) nwa requested to be that way. there are quite a lot of pitfalls here and these should be settled before adding any further constraints here. especially when one considers the newly added creditblocks which allows minor credits to be moved to major ones. |

He probably meant when a range that covers all the episodes is given, then again, should specials be considered or not. Personally I'm against this. It's the usual case of some anime have those credits in OP and some having them in ED. One solution is already implemented, the manual ordering of credits. This means that one must edit each credit that's given in ED (bust displayed as major) and order them to be somewhere in the minor credit list (the last part isn't that hard to do since the dropdown menu only shows the credits that were given to this particular anime). |

In the case of special episodes it could be ignored and displayed as it is now. OVAs in general have to be checked differently, but I don't think that should be reflected in the way they're displayed. |
