Summary | 0000893: Handle seasons & arcs
Description | I suggest AniDB handles seasons in series: -Split episode list in seasons. -Allow to vote for a season. That would allow permanent vote for never-ending series, as well as track quality along time. -Have the number & name of the season (if any), and also available as rename parameter. -Show a mark for season change on progress-of-release bar. (groups tend to start or stop at season changes) As a side note, some series have seasons as one continuous flow, while others have separate entries. I am not sure what is your take on this, but it seems to be when official name changes. It could be useful too to handle story arcs (when well-defined and applicable).

"I am not sure what is your take on this, but it seems to be when official name changes." No, it isn't always the case: * two different series can have the same official name, different years. * a same series (Pokemon advanced for example) can have different official names depending of the seasons and countries. So different series on AniDB is more often based on release dates, when there is a gap (new anime) or not (same anime). The seasons thing would be a good idea of implementation on AniDB, even if the seasons names are sometimes unofficial. This would also come in handy for DVD releases: additional episodes would be part of some "extended season" or "bonus season". |

look at the date if you wanna know what season some certain ep aired in. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Season what the content industry calls seasons is a story arc. point. referring to them as "season" is bollocks. |
